HIT™-DH5a are unique chemically competent cells, which utilise a novel transformation protocol: High Ice Transformation. A simple ice incubation from 1-10 minutes is all that is required to transform the cells to high efficiency. There is no requirement for heat shock or recovery step.

Applications and Genotype
The HIT - DH5a strain allows blue-white color screening for recombinant plasmid and is an excellent host strain for routine cloning applications using plasmid or lambda vectors.
