Proteinase K is a stable and highly reactive serine protease. It exhibits strong proteolytic activity on a wide range of denatured and native proteins of high molecular weight. It can be used to aid isolation of RNA and high molecular weight DNA due to its rapid proteolytic inactivation of endogenous nucleases.
Applications
Nucleic Acid Extraction, Detection of BSE forming proteins which are uniquely resistant to proteolytic, cleavage, Analysis of membrane structure
